GALE protests against UNESCO youth forum in Saudi-Arabia - April 14, 2017

14 april 2017 - GALE has filed a protest at the NGO Liaison Committee of UNESCO for organizing a thematic forum on youth in Saudi Arabia. Recently, Saudi Arabian men were convicted to 450 lashes for "promoting the vice and practice of homosexuality". GALE says the choice of the UNESCO Committee for Riyadh as a location for a human right conference will silence a large proportion of the world youth population.

Two candidates elected for GALE Committee - April 09, 2017

9 april 2017 - Two of the nine candidates for the GALE Advisory Committee have been elected: Aditya Bondyopadhyay (India) and Eben Díaz (Nicaragua). The other candidates got less then 10 votes, which was the minimum set for election.

Japan includes protection LGBT students in anti-bullying guidelines - March 25, 2017

25 March 2017 - The new national bullying prevention policy of Japan will for the first time protect sexual and gender minority students. The measure will boost Japan’s reputation regionally and internationally on lesbian, gay, bisexual, and transgender rights. Nine candidates for the GALE Association Committee - February 09, 2017

9 February 2017 - The period for proposing candidates for the GALE Association Committee has closed. The profiles of the candidates are now on the voting page so the GALE members can orient themselves on who to vote. The elections will take place online between 15 February and 1 March.
