I am the district librarian for a 35 member school library consortium in Northern California. Currently the school libraries provide LGBTQQ information and literature to students, parents and staff. With the passage of California's Senate Bill 48, it is now a requirement to provide materials that highlight LGBTQ history and contributions. California Department of Education suggests that LGBTQ materials correlate to 4th, 11th and 12 grades social studies standards. I believe that the Global Alliance for LGBT Education will help us to provide the best in materials and information to all our students and staff.
